Responsible AI

Strategic decisions with AI in the loop, that hold up under scrutiny.

AI does not replace the people who decide. It changes what they need to defend. Our platform is built so every strategic decision made with AI can be traced, explained, and audited: by the team that made it, by the auditor who reviews it, and by the regulator who asks for it.

Why this matters

Strategic AI competes on category, once it has a normative spine.

Most strategy-AI products are productivity tools wearing an AI label. They optimize output velocity and call it strategy. We play a different game: strategic decisions that must hold up under scrutiny, audit, and human accountability. Responsible AI is not a marketing layer for us. It is the rule set the product is built around.

Already in the platform

The safeguards we ship with, today.

Responsible AI shows up as features, not slogans. Here's what's in production right now: the controls, gates, and audit surfaces that make AI-assisted strategic decisions defensible.

Data Protection

Data Guardian

A pre-flight gate on every strategic analysis: before your data reaches an AI model, it is scanned against nine critical PII patterns. Fields classified as RESTRICTED never leave our servers: they are hard-coded out of the prompt for every strategy node type. (We're extending the same gate to every AI surface in the product; see 'Shipping next.')

Data Classification

Four-level field sensitivity

Every data point on the platform is classified at one of four sensitivity levels (PUBLIC, INTERNAL, CONFIDENTIAL, RESTRICTED), driving how it can be stored, exposed, and used by AI features.

Output Safety

Output Guard

A post-generation safety check that inspects every strategy-analysis response before it reaches the user. Blocks any output containing secrets or sensitive material that slipped through earlier sanitization.

Transparency

AI authorship marks

Every piece of text generated by AI in the platform is stamped with a visible AI logo. Readers always know which words came from a model and which came from a human. No silent ghostwriting; provenance is part of the artifact.

Accountability

End-to-end audit logging

Every state change is recorded with user, action, resource, and timestamp. Strategic decisions made with AI are inspectable end-to-end. No silent edits, no missing context, no plausible deniability.

Access Control

Role-based access

Seven roles (Owner, Admin, Manager, Member, Board, External, Viewer) with authentication enforced on every API route and every UI surface. The right people see the right things; nobody else does.

The compliance foundation underneath. Every safeguard above runs on EU-resident infrastructure that fails closed: AI requests that cannot be routed inside the EU fail rather than leave it, and EU endpoints for voice are enforced at server startup, with a full end-to-end audit trail and weekly checks against the EU AI Act, GDPR, ISO 27001 and AIUC-1.

Human oversight

You stay in command of the AI, not the other way around

"Humans stay in charge" is not a value statement here. It is how the product is wired. Autonomy is something you grant, not a default the AI assumes.

01

Agents pause at the decisions that matter

At key checkpoints, your AI organization stops and surfaces the decision for a named owner to approve, refine, or dismiss. It does not commit high-stakes moves on its own.

02

You set the limits

Budgets, autonomy levels, and access are yours to set per role and per agent. Grant more as trust builds; revoke it instantly when you want.

03

Every action has an accountable human

Each strategic action carries a named owner and a full trail, so when a regulator or your board asks "who decided this, and on what basis," the answer is on record, not reconstructed.

EU AI Act

Built for the way the EU AI Act asks you to work

The AI Act does not ask you to stop using AI for strategy. It asks you to keep a human accountable, tell people when AI was involved, and be able to show your work. The platform is built to make that the path of least resistance, not a compliance project you bolt on afterward.

Human oversight

Decisions route through a named, accountable person, with approval gates at the moments that matter.

Transparency

Every AI-generated passage is marked as AI-generated, so provenance travels with the artifact.

Traceability & logging

Every state change and AI-assisted decision is recorded, end to end, ready for review.

Continuous assessment

The platform is checked weekly against the AI Act, GDPR, ISO 27001 and AIUC-1, so drift is caught before it becomes a finding.

Our principles

Four principles guide how we build with AI.

Adapted from the work of Life with Artificials, whose frameworks on human-AI integration inform how we approach the harder questions in our domain. lifewithartificials.com

01

Humans stay in charge

The human is in the decision, not just the loop. Every strategic action has a named, accountable owner, with the trail to prove it.

02

Many mindsets

People relate to AI differently: trust, doubt, override, defer. That pluralism is a feature in the design, not noise to smooth over.

03

Inclusive integration

Safe, ethical, sustainable AI, built so no one is left behind. The 18th SDG criteria made operational inside the product.

04

Reflective practice

Speed is cheap. Wisdom is not. We design for deliberate pauses at the moments that deserve them.

Thought leadership

We don't claim to have invented the field.

The questions around responsible AI are bigger than any one company can answer alone. On the cultural and ethical dimensions of AI integration, we point our customers to people who have been thinking about this longer and harder than most product teams have.

Life with Artificials

A Copenhagen-based non-profit researching how humans live with artificials: AI, biotech, robotics, synthetic ecosystems. Founded by Mia Negru, the organization runs The Book of Mindsets (an open knowledge exchange on human dispositions toward AI) and leads the campaign for an 18th UN Sustainable Development Goal on safe, ethical, inclusive AI integration.

We treat their work as required reading on the cultural side of the responsible-AI conversation, and we draw on their frameworks when we design how decisions get made inside our platform.

Where we're taking this further.

Three new capabilities, drawing on the frameworks we've adopted from Life with Artificials, built on top of the safeguards already in production.

Compliance Node

The 18th SDG evaluation

A compliance node that scores any strategic AI initiative against four human-impact axes: safe, ethical, sustainable, inclusive integration. A defensible artifact for boards, auditors, and regulators.

In design

Decision Lens

The Mindset agent

An agent that pressure-tests strategic outputs from multiple human dispositions toward AI (trust, doubt, override, defer) before a decision is committed. Pluralism, in production.

Prototyping

Decision Rituals

Structured pause points

Built-in moments of reflection inside strategic flows: a forced slowdown before high-stakes commits. Speed is cheap; the cost of skipping the pause is not.

Research

Data Protection

Data Guardian everywhere

Extending the same pre-flight screening that protects every strategy analysis to every remaining AI surface in the product, so the guarantee is universal.

Get in touch

The questions are not going away. The answers shouldn't be improvised.

If you're evaluating AI for strategic decisions and the responsible-AI conversation is part of how you choose vendors, let's talk.

Bring your DPO, your risk lead, or your board. Everything here (the controls, the audit trail, the compliance posture) is built to be shown, not just claimed.
